How to prevent unwanted solar gain & heat loss in a Conservatory

Your conservatory has just increased the value of your home... If It's Insulated!

A new Conservatory regulation coming this year will mean adding a Conservatory to your home or buying a new home that includes a Conservatory will be an extremely expensive option. Read on to learn how you can add huge value to your home by improving your existing conservatory.

New Government Guidelines Regarding Conservatories!

From June 2022, Conservatories built as part of a new build development must be insulated as standard to prevent 'unwanted solar gain' to prepare for the summer heat.

Futureproof Your Conservatory!

Why Is This New Conservatory Regulation Being Put In Place?

Under a new government regulation all new build Conservatories must comply with new efficiency standards which states that they must not create unwanted solar gain. This is in preparation for Britain’s upcoming summer where temperatures are predicted to reach a massive 40 Degrees Celsius which would result in Conservatories overheating and potentially cause homeowners to be unwell as a consequence.

These new Conservatory Guidelines will come into force in June 2022.

The new rules are part of new ways the government are attempting to battle climate change, improve domestic ventilation & reduce gas emissions & home owners carbon footprint and essentially create a better, more economical Britain.

Existing Conservatories

You may be thinking, "I already have a Conservatory, does this mean I can't use it this summer?"

If you are reading this then you will more than likely already have a beautiful Conservatory that you love so you are already familiar with the limits the weather can put on how much you enjoy your Conservatory.

The average temperature for the summer months in Britain is around 26 Degrees Celsius which creates a Conservatory that is just far too hot to enjoy. The sun beats down on your Conservatory Roof and amplifies the suns rays into the room. If you have done nothing to combat this problem, now more than ever is the best time to do so!

As far as we know, there will be no action taken against existing homeowners that already have a Conservatory but do not take action to improve the efficiency.  The answer to your question is – Technically Yes,  you can use your Conservatory, ignore the problem and tolerate the overbearing temperatures that the inside of your Conservatory will reach.

Ashley Lancaster from Insulate-it.com said “Conservatories are known for being inefficient and often we get customers asking if we can help them make their Conservatory more efficient. We always recommend ConservaHeat as we know it’s the best product on the market to create an ambient Conservatory climate”
